Say it with flowers!
Before he became a psychopathic dictator, Adolf Hitler ‘the artist’, visited the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare, to paint seascapes.
He stayed for two weeks in 1912 with his good friend, the Music Hall star, Little Tich. Tich was then treading the boards on stage at Weston’s newly built Pier. It is rumoured that one night, a drunken Adolph appeared on stage, introduced as ‘The German Tramp’.
The two friends were regularly seen walking along the seafront, acting the goat and infiltrating various stag parties.
To commemorate this historic visit the council gardeners have designed a new flowerbed display, featuring Hitler’s famous ‘branding’ – The swastika.
Hitler eventually gave up painting, went on to lead Germany’s Nazi Party, invade Poland, and instigate WW2.
Little Tich sadly died in 1928, after tripping down a flight of stairs.
